Tri-Level Yard
The Kemp Residence was a challenging site. The backyard was very small, as you can see from the photos. It had a 5' retaining wall in the back, below which the terrain sloped steeply, making it unusable. What we were able to create, was a three level yard by creating another retaining wall. The second level added space for a private spa, fire-pit, and sitting area with beautiful plantings. At the lowest level, we created a natural space with a red fescue meadow and drought tolerant plantings.
